Empowering Black and racialized health and safety professionals through advocacy, education, and mentorship, the Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals (CABHSP) stands as a pivotal force for workplace equality and wellbeing.
We dedicate ourselves to dismantling barriers and fostering a supportive community where every member thrives, free from discrimination and empowered to achieve their highest potential.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that safety, health, and opportunity should know no bounds of race, ensuring a safer, more inclusive professional landscape for all.
We are a beacon of hope and empowerment for the health and safety of all workers.
At the heart of our mission lies a deep commitment to advocating for those often left in the shadows of workplace health and safety discussions amongst our Black and racialized workers.
With our roots deeply embedded in the community, CABHSP emerges from a rich foundation laid by founding members who bring an impressive collective experience of twenty-nine years in the occupational health and safety industry.
Our focus transcends traditional health and safety measures, diving into the psychological and social realms where overt racism and micro-aggressions not only persist but thrive, endangering the mental well-being and productivity of Black and racialized workers.
The unique challenges faced by these communities call for a specialized approach, and CABHSP answers this call with vigor and vision.
Through a comprehensive suite of services including education, mentorship, and coaching on workplace psychosocial health, we pave the way for a healthier, safer working environment for everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, ability, or age.
Our efforts are bolstered by the invaluable support of the government, a testament to the importance and urgency of our mission.
This collaboration enables us to expand our reach and deepen our impact, ensuring that no worker has to navigate the complexities of workplace safety alone. Volunteers are the lifeblood of CABHSP, bringing passion, energy, and a diversity of perspectives to our work.
Their dedication is a driving force behind our ability to connect workers with crucial social services, mental health support, and employment resources.
Partnerships with like-minded organizations amplify our voice and extend our reach, creating a network of support that empowers Black and racialized workers to not only survive but thrive in their workplaces.
Together, we foster a community where workers can engage with and support one another, building resilience and advocating for a future where workplace safety is inclusive, equitable, and just.
Join us on this journey of transformation, where every worker's health and safety is not just a priority, but a fundamental right. The Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals is more than an organization; we are a movement, a call to action, and a beacon of change in the occupational health and safety landscape.
